Trading hours determine when an instrument is available for trading. Trading hours may vary depending on the instrument and can be affected by rollover periods, holidays, and other market conditions.
How to check market hours
You can check the market open and close times for each trading instrument directly in your MT4 or MT5 terminal.
For detailed instructions, please refer to How to View Market Hours.
Quotes time vs Trade time
Quotes time means that price updates are available for the instrument, but you cannot open new trades.
Trade time means that the instrument is available for trading and you can place new orders.
It is recommended to place new trades during Trade time.
Rollover period
Rollover is the period when open spot trades move from one trading day to the next without settlement. During this period, market liquidity may be lower, which can result in wider spreads.
During rollover:
- Spreads may widen.
- Swap may be credited or charged on open positions.
- Trading and financial operations may be temporarily unavailable for a few minutes.
Note: Gold (XAUUSD) may be closed during the forex rollover period. Liquidity may also be lower than usual around this time.
Leverage restrictions
Leverage may be temporarily restricted during certain periods, including daily market breaks and major news events. The applicable leverage may vary depending on the instrument and trading conditions.
For more information, please refer to Daily and News Event Leverage Restrictions
Holidays and weekends
Trading hours may be affected by weekends and bank holidays. Some instruments may have modified trading hours or may be unavailable for trading during holidays.
Please refer to our Holiday Trading Hours for the latest schedule.
Note: Crypto pairs are generally available on weekends but may also be affected by holidays or other schedule changes. Please check the Holiday Trading Hours page for updates.
